The 2010 Spending Review announced the first phase of ‘Community Budgets’, in which 16 places will identify the national and local funding they need to deliver transformational solutions for families with multiple problems.
The Government on the 17th October 2011, as part of the Local Government resource review, released the Community Budget prospectus introducing Neighbourhood-level Community Budgets and whole place Community Budgets. The areas taking part will help to secure a shift of power from Westminster to people, ending the era of top-down Government by giving new powers to local authorities, communities, enabling areas to use their resources more effectively to create better outcomes for citizens.
