DWP £200m European Social Fund provision for families with multiple problems
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have announced £200m European Social Fund provision to support families with multiple problems move towards employment. The ESF provision for families with multiple problems is expected to operate in tandem with local services, including family intervention services. The new approach will be financed through the European Social Fund (ESF) and has been designed to operate in tandem with existing local authority family intervention projects and work being done by the Department for Education, so that there is no duplication of effort. Local authorities will be key partners in delivering this provision – as they know families best, they will be responsible for identifying the families who will take part. More information will be shared when available.

Swindon’s Life programme
One Swindon partners have received a considerable amount of interest in the Life Programme that began to take shape in Swindon in partnership with Participle, a social enterprise, in 2009.
Until now it was felt to be too early to share the learning about the Life Programme, the Community Budgets context, its impact to date and the wider implications for organisational transformation. They would therefore like to invite you to join them for a morning to reflect on their journey so far on the morning of 13th July. DotGovLabs goes public
The DotGovLabs Innovation Hub is part of the Cabinet Office Skunkworks programme, reporting to Mark O’Neill, CIO for DCMS and DCLG, backed by Francis Maude and with wide participation from across government. It goes live to the public this week as it pursues its aims to nurture digital innovation from outside government from the people who know digital. It is the part of the skunkworks programme that looks to ask the external community to show government what it should be doing with digital.

The press release is here and the report itself – ‘Total Transport – Working across sectors to achieve better outcomes’ is available here.
