We believe it takes great leadership to create a thriving and prosperous community. Our ambition is to give leaders the opportunity to shift their thinking on leadership so they can fundamentally transform their communities for the better.
Today local leadership is about creating a sense of place that gives communities their identity. Our interest is not in leadership development for its own sake but in creating the change that results in better lives for citizens.
Established in 2005 and recently awarded charitable status, the Leadership Centre is looking for 5 trustees to enhance the current board. In addition to fulfilling the statutory duties, we are seeking trustees with specific skills, knowledge or experience to help the board reach sound decisions on the governance of the charity and its future strategy.
Applications would be particularly welcome from individuals who could offer one or more of the following skills and/or experience:
- Local government knowledge with a national perspective
- Senior figures from health, police and the voluntary sector as well as local government and the private sector
- Governance and strategic planning
- Senior level experience of charity management
Board meetings are held four times per year. Trustees would be expected to commit half a day to those meetings and in addition, a minimal amount of time to correspondence in between them. Positions are unremunerated although normal travel expenses will be reimbursed.
