Next Generation Labour 2011

Now in its sixth year,  the programme has supported a whole range of Labour councillors who are now in leadership positions in local government. Next Generation Labour is focused on developing political and organisational leadership skills and is aimed at cabinet level councillors with the capacity to develop politically.

The programme is a demanding one with the opportunity to meet and discuss with senior Labour members in local government and the Shadow Cabinet. As well as the development programme we will also provide a political mentor to support the progress of participants.

 It is co-ordinated and supported by the Local Government Labour Group and Leadership and Localism team, who cover all costs for attendance except travel.

Applications will open  for the sixth cohort of Next Generation Labour on June 29 2011. Please complete and submit  this online form by July 29 2011.

Ideally applicants will be:
· Those recently appointed to the cabinet or shadow cabinet
· Those with the potential to do so within the next 12 months.
All applicants must have the endorsement of their council, or group leader.
