Today’s local leaders are at the heart of their communities, providing the imagination and the inspiration to create a community out of a place.

This involves not only leading the authority well, but giving the same inspirational lead to all the organisations delivering services to their community.

The Leadership Centre gives chief executives, leaders, their corporate management team and the cabinet, the opportunity to shift their thinking on leadership so they can fundamentally transform their communities for the better.

We work with authorities in the following ways:

A local leadership project helps an authority to understand its capacity for leadership and move into a position  to determine what it needs to do in order to develop. (more)

We have set up a Practice of place, which is a community of 60 key individuals in local government who, over the next 18 months, will essentially explore what it means to shape place and actually how to go about doing it. (more)

Our unique programme called Civic Pride is designed to encourage confident, capable and visionary local leadership among local government politicians. Civic Pride is made up of five programmes that promote and support local politicians at each stage of their political lives, helping to reinvigorate local democracy. (more)
